Getting a WWU Disability Permit

  • A valid state-issued disability placard and a valid WWU parking permit are both required to park in accessible spaces, Monday–Friday 7:00am–4:30pm. After hours and on weekends, only the state placard is required.
  • For a longer-term WWU disability permit, add yourself to a waitlist through the Parking Portal and directly select the disability permit option — this uses the same employee waitlist process (ranked by seniority, based on days employed) as a regular Employee Permit.
  • For day-to-day access without a standing permit, you can also obtain a permit at the pay station in lot C or 6V, or through the ParkMobile app.
  • If the nearest accessible space is full, you may park in an adjacent non-reserved space.

For more information on accessibility accommodations and the DAC process, see Disability Access and Accommodations.

Common Questions

No. We confirm that your placard is valid and not expired when you're parked, but we don't keep placard numbers on file or cross-reference them with your vehicle.

As a courtesy, we may ask you to move to a regular space once you're done so the space stays available for others — but you won't be cited for staying longer than a standard time limit.
