Employee Permit Transfers and Refunds
Need to Switch Lots or Return Your Permit?
Permit Transfers
- If you have a permit and want to transfer to a different lot, add yourself to the waitlist through the Parking Portal for your desired lot.
- If you're awarded a permit for the new lot, the credit from your original permit applies to the new one — you'll either pay the difference or receive a refund if the two permits differ in price.
- G lot to G lot transfers (e.g., 12G to 17G) are typically the same price and processed as a straight swap.
- Switching from an A permit to a G permit requires an additional payment, since A permits are sold at a lower rate. If you paid by credit card, you'll receive a payment link for the difference; if you pay by payroll deduction, your deduction amount will be updated instead.
- If you have a Pay-by-Day permit and are awarded a new lot, the same transfer process applies as a regular lot change.
Permit Returns and Refunds
- Permits can be returned for a prorated refund, calculated from the date the return is requested.
- Refund requests made after an extended personal or emergency leave don't qualify for a retroactive refund — any unused quarters remaining on the permit will still be refunded.
- To request a return, email Transportation Services with your W# and your request.
