Employee Summer Parking Updates

WWU Employees,

Please read below for information on commencement parking, summer zone parking, and construction that will be taking place over the summer.

This year, Commencement will include eight ceremonies taking place from Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th. Transportation Services is anticipating a high number of visitors parking on campus during these ceremonies. To avoid this parking congestion, employees who typically park in lots 9G, 17G, and 19G will also be able to park in lots 7G and 12G during Commencement weekend. No further action is required for you to park in these lots if you are a current permit holder for lots 9G, 17G, and 19G.

For anyone attending commencement, parking instructions can be found on the Registrar's Office website.

Here is a link to the campus parking map for your reference.

Zone Parking

Zone Parking will start on Monday, June 13th, and will continue through summer quarter, ending on September 15th. When zone parking is active, employee parking permits are valid in all “Blue Zone” parking lots, in addition to their normal location. For more information, visit our Zone Parking page.

Summer Construction

On Monday, June 13th, work will begin to convert the temporary parking lot behind the Wade King Recreation Center to a permanent lot. Flaggers may need to occasionally close one lane of traffic along the Wade King service road during this time. If you park in lots 9G or 19G please know that the parking lots will remain open, but that there may be possible short delays during the summer. Construction is anticipated to be completed for the fall quarter.

If you have any questions, please contact Transportation Services at transportation@wwu.edu or at 360-650-2945.

Thank you,
