Hourly and Day Parking

Three ways to pay: on site at a pay station, the ParkMobile app on your smartphone, or anywhere with Western's Parking Portal.

Parking Portal

You can also pay for a day pass through Western's Parking Portal. You need only sign into your account, register your vehicle, choose a day pass in a guest lot, and check out.

Pay Stations

Pay Station's accept debit and credit cards only (Visa/MasterCard) — no cash.

  1. Press any key to wake the pay station from power-save mode.
  2. Enter your license plate number accurately — this is what identifies your vehicle.
  3. Select your parking option or time using the keypad.
  4. Insert your card to complete the transaction.
  5. Optionally, print a receipt.

For a step by step guide, visit the Pay Stations Page.

Hours vary by location:

  • The Viking Union pay station (N. Garden St.) operates 24/7.
  • The four pay stations near Fairhaven College operate Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm.
  • All other pay stations operate Monday–Friday 4:30pm–7:00am, and all day on weekends.

See the Parking Map for exact pay station locations.

Pay Station / ParkMobile

ParkMobile

Pay for parking from your phone using the ParkMobile app, or by calling 877-727-5832.

  • Free to register and download — you're only charged a $0.35 transaction fee each time you purchase parking, plus the cost of the time itself.
  • Extending your parking session counts as a new transaction, with its own $0.35 fee.
  • The app alerts you 15 minutes before your time expires, and lets you remotely extend your session or find your car.
  • Accepted cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express.
  • Zone numbers matter — find your zone number on the green ParkMobile sign in your parking area before you pay, so your license plate gets matched to the correct lot.
  • All ParkMobile transactions are non-refundable — if you buy more time than you need, it can't be refunded.

Translating ParkMobile Zone Numbers

If you're looking at a ParkMobile zone number and aren't sure which lot it refers to, WWU's lots are mapped to zone numbers in the 1200s — the last two digits usually match the lot's own name. For example, Zone 1209 is Lot 9G, and Zone 1206 is Lot 6V. The two exceptions: C lots are Zone 1200, and Lincoln Creek is Zone 1280.

Troubleshooting ParkMobile Login Issues

If you're not seeing your correct rate in the app, you're most likely not logged into your WWU ParkMobile account rather than a general app problem. Try this:

  1. In the app, go to Settings → Account Settings. If you don't see an Account Settings option, you're not logged into any account — skip to step 3.
  2. Check that the email address shown is your correct WWU email. If it isn't, sign out.
  3. Tap Sign In to My Account, enter your WWU email, and tap Send Link.
  4. Check your WWU email on the same device you're trying to log in on — you can't click the link from a different device or your computer if you're logging into the phone app.
  5. Tapping the link in the email should redirect you back into the app, now logged in correctly.

If you don't receive a login email at all, you may not have a ParkMobile account under your WWU email — try the Sign Up option instead.

If you're logged into the correct account and still not seeing your Pay-by-Day rate, contact Transportation Services — something may be off with your permit setup rather than your login.
