Employee Bus Pass
All WWU employees* have a bus pass on their Western Card which offers free, unlimited rides on all WTA and Skagit Transit bus routes. No action is needed to start using your Western Card to ride the bus, simply tap or swipe your card as your board the bus.
*Student employees are eligible for a bus pass through the Active Transportation Fee. Visit the student bus pass page for more details.
Your Western Card is Also Your Bus Pass
Your Western Card is your bus pass on all Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) and Skagit Transit fixed routes. On WTA buses tap your card on the Umo reader, if your card was issued prior to Fall 2022 swipe your Western card in the card reader next to the driver's seat when you board the bus. On Skagit Transit buses tap your card on the Umo reader, if your card was issued prior to Fall 2022 you will need to visit the Western Card Office.
Paratransit
Ride paratransit with your Western Card with WTA. Paratransit is a curb-to-curb service for riders whose disability prevents them from riding WTA's fixed routes. To ride Paratransit, you must qualify and be approved by WTA before riding, learn more on WTA's Paratransit site.
