Western Takes Silver!

The League of American Bicyclists recently honored Western with a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly University award in recognition of Western's achievements in promoting and enabling safe, accessible bicycling on campus.

Being bicycle friendly has made it possible for more students, faculty, and staff to ride a bicycle to and from campus. Western encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as ample bicycle parking, showers and lockers, an emergency ride home program, and wide paths for bicycles.

Western is proud to be a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly University. This award recognizes the improvements to bicycling that Western has made since 2013 which is the last time that Western applied to be a Bicycle Friendly University. Notably, Western moved from the honorable mention category to the silver level in 2021.
